Since the students in PHBS are taught in Hindi, they are instrumental in spreading the gospel in different areas in the country. Most of the MasihiSangati Evangelists are usually graduates from PHBS and are very active and useful in the functioning of the fellowships.Īs mentioned above, PHBS is on the forefront and can be said to be the main hub for the preparation of missionaries, evangelists, pastors and other church leaders for the Synod Mission Board in particular and the Church in general. Usefulness in Masihi Sangati : Due to the influx of non-mizo, non-believers in the state, MasihiSangati Fellowship have been on the rise in many Pastorates all over Mizoram. Since they are educated on the Church’s history they are very useful in their local Pastorate in different areas of the Synod Mission Field. Usefulness in the Mission Field : The graduates from PHBS after going back to their hometowns are instrumental in spreading the gospel to other non-believers by supporting the missionaries and evangelists in their areas. The Presbyterian Hindi Bible School admits individuals from not only our church but also from other denominations like United Pentecostal Church, Lai Ram Isua Krista Baptist Kohhran, Baptist Church of Mizoram, Evangelical Church of Maraland, Roman Catholic Church etc and also individuals from Para Churches in order for them to have a better grasp of the gospel and help them in spreading the gospel. The 2016 SYNOD of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church held in the year 2016 decided that students who successfully completed the course were to be awarded “Certificate in Theology (C.Th)” Certificates. Syllabus : From its inception the Syllabus was developed as the course was for a duration of 3 months course but this was changed to a 6 months course with a capacity to cater to two batches of 30 students each in a year since 1998. But on the name was changed into “Hindi Bible School” by the Synod Mission Board Board Meeting furthermore, the named was altered again to “Presbyterian Hindi Bible School” by the Synod of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church held in the year 2008. The school was aptly named “Non-Mizo Christian Training School” since 1989. Why it was built and named : The Training Centre was envisaged by the Mizoram Synod Mission Board to further strengthen the Bible knowledge and teach the Christian way of life for the newly converted Non-Mizo Christians in Mizoram. Pastor Vanlalbela and Instructor Elder/Upa H. Regular classes started on 15 September 1990 with 20 students - 18 males and 2 females, supervised by Head Instructor Pro.
